Upcycling Words that No Longer Fit: A Writing Workshop
Upcycling Words that No Longer Fit: A Writing Workshop
March 18th, 8 am PST/11 am EST: Upcycling Words that No Longer Fit: Do some of the words you wrote 10 years ago (or even 10 months ago) make you cringe? Old journals, Facebook memories, blog posts that feel like they were written by a totally different person?
As we grow and change—and our ideas and beliefs evolve—what do we do with words that no longer fit?
Well, we can delete them, burn them, throw them in the trash. OR we can revisit and repurpose them, upcycle them into something new and healing. Both options are valid!
If upcycling old words sounds intriguing, there are so many ways to do this. Erasure poetry, blackout poetry, making art pieces, writing back to that person you used to be and sharing what you’ve learned with them and how you’ve changed and grown.
Join Cara Meredith and Marla Taviano for a writing workshop that offers a time for upcycling old words into something new. You can come with piles of old words or just collect creative ideas for when you’re ready to dive in.
The vibe: cathartic and fun. Join us!
