Hi there!

I’m a Pacific Northwest turned California native, so Oregon, Washington and California all feel like home to me. I’m an ENFP / Enneagram 7w8 and the oldest of three. I am wife to James and mother to two young, elementary-aged boys.

But the most important thing you should know, and the reason I imagine you’re here, is that I believe in the power of words. I relish in writing and coaching, in speaking and teaching. I believe our words can change the world.

I first experienced this as a high school English and leadership teacher, when I taught in both the private and public sector, straight out of college. I further learned about the power of words when I served as a non-profit outreach director for nearly a decade. During that time, I finished a Masters of Theology degree (Fuller Seminary) and subsequently realized that I didn’t really want to be in ministry anymore.

So, I started to write. A lot. And eventually, I wrote a spiritual memoir about my journey as a white woman into issues of race, which released in 2019 from Zondervan. I speak and write regularly on spirituality, theology and creativity, as well as on issues of justice, race and privilege.

As a freelance writer, speaker and conversationalist, I tell stories - after all, stories hold a unique power to change us and the invitation into story is no exception. And as an editor, coach and instructor, I come alongside writers to unearth the stories buried within. I suppose you could say I’m kind of like a gravedigger: I help your words come alive!

That’s about it for me. When I’m not doing a myriad of wordy things, I enjoy exploring Oakland, backyard bonfires, camping, reading and throwing the ball with the beloved dog, Rufus Lucky Meredith. I’d love to hear from you!
