Even though my friend Micha has put Thankful Tuesdays on hold for a bit, as I sit here writing today, I find that I need both the reminder of thankfulness and the simple act of list-making. So, what to do? Be thankful regardless! I say make your own list and share it in the comment section below, on FB’s be, mama be, or on your own blog today! Let’s live the grateful life!
*For a renewed love of YA (Young Adult) literature – I just can’t get enough. Read The Fault in our Stars, like now. It will change you, for the better. John Green for President (okay, and Seth Godin. And can we add Jesus to the list too?).
*For sunshine in San Francisco – there’s nothing like it. I am soaking it up until the fog bowls me over come June.
*For walks in said sunshine with the HBH and Cancan. Side-by-side footsteps are where the best conversations happen, I tell you.
*For Little Lucca’s sandwiches. Why do places like Subway and Panera even exist when the local place piles on the goods sky-high and boasts a thick line out the door to the sidewalk?
*For a little man who loves to post himself at the front bay window and chirp away at the world outside. For the recognition on his face when he sees me walking up, and for the ear to ear beams that connect our hearts.
*For the ability to create and play in the dirt. For the love of attempting to garden and trips to Home Depot and the bona-fide therapy found in pulling weeds and chopping away at shrubs.
*For learning to love reading cookbooks as books. Pure love!
*For the HBH who – without fail – says, “Mmm, something smells good” when I’m only sautéing onions with a little bit of olive oil. (Maybe one of these days I should serve onions for dinner; that’d really cut down on the prep time).
*For real conversations with friends new and old, and for cheering each other on, even when life’s hard and things don’t go our way.
*For a brother-in-law who safely arrived home to his bride and nine-month old baby after five months underway!
What about you? What are you thankful for today?0
