Week: 33 weeks! Within an hour of each other, I got the following comments from two sweet – perhaps slightly senile? – old lady acquaintances yesterday: “Oh wow…are you sure you’re not having twins?” “Wow. You look like you’re about to drop!” And I still potentially have 7 (to 9) weeks to go?!
Size: He’s a pineapple! He’s a 4 pound pineapple! So much better than a jicama, I tell you.
Name: Little Caramel
Gender: punching, kicking, somersaulting, causing me crazy heartburn baby boy!
Maternity Clothes: Nothing BUT. And I hear you wear them for 3 months afterwards? (See, when they say maternity clothes are for 9 months, perhaps it’s actually starting second trimester – postpartum. Maybe?)
Food Cravings: Coconut. Rotisserie chicken. A smoothie every day that keeps the doctor away.
Currently reading: Bringing Up Bebe, The Nursing Mother’s Companion + Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close.
Most interesting fact: Not only do the French have a free healthcare system, but they also have free daycare. And daycare, though it’s not always looked highly upon in the states, is THE place for your child to be over in France. It’s been super, super interesting learning the differences in French and American parenting styles (via Bringing Up Bebe).
Feeling: Very, very loved. I had two showers this weekend, one down in Santa Cruz, and one here on the Peninsula. Have you ever felt so overwhelmingly loved and taken care of and all you can do is receive it? My heart is full.
Missing: Having full capacities to bend over; this involves but is not limited to painting my toenails, picking things up off the floor, petting the dog. Geez Louise, there’s a large object in my way.
Anticipating: The Giants game tonite with the parents! Okay, and on a pregnancy note, our birth class that starts tomorrow night. Wowsers.
What are you excited for this week? This day?0
