Because I’m hopping on a plane at the bright and early time of 5.36 tomorrow morning, today’s Monday post is taking a Sunday turn. Regardless, enjoy!
Size: The little one is the size of an avocado; when neighbor Mark asked what vegetable size the baby was this week, he subsequently decided to name it guacamole. Speaking of, tortilla chips, anyone?
Name: Little Caramel
Gender: Coming to an ultrasound near you on January 31st!
Maternity Clothes: Perhaps because I was up front this morning at church, but maybe because I’m actually starting to “belly out,” I definitely received a couple of inquisitive comments. From one such, please-just-tell-me-you’re-pregnant-so-I-don’t-have-to-keep-staring-at-your-belly-guessing congregant: “I just KNEW you were pregnant because of all those loose-fitting cotton clothes you’ve been wearing!” We then talked about not cutting off circulation for the next 3 minutes. It was rather stimulating.
Food Cravings: Fried chicken. I could seriously eat the skin for life. Disgusting.
Currently reading: The Science of Parenting (uh, parenting), Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (audible), Moral Vision (class) + some of them from last week.
Most interesting reading fact: Did you know that all primates (besides humans) co-sleep with their babies? Think about it: mama bear’s protecting her babies from the wiles of nature! [As per co-sleeping itself, I don’t think we’re going to do it, but I love reading about it regardless.]
Feeling: So, so tired! Again, this is my own mistake of over-exertion; I guess I figured that the incredible energy of 2nd trimester + an insanely busy week would not equal a cloud of exhaustion. Hypothesis = wrong.
Missing: a mimosa! How I wanted one to celebrate a brunch with some lovely ladies at this fun circus restaurant in the city. Instead I cheers-ed with my Arnold Palmer. Free refill, please!
Anticipating: a five hour flight that will seemingly fly by due to many, many naps and a good book. (I think I can, I think I can!)
Have a great week, ya’ll! I’m off to pack. Soon. No really, I’ll get to it in just a few minutes…0
