At this past week’s appointment (on Thursday), we actually found out we’d hit the 15 week mark the next day – so, the Thursday weekly updates are now going to be mid-week on Monday!
Week: 15 (Side note: I’ve heard from several women who are pregnant with their second or more, that you’re really only aware of how far along you are with the first pregnancy. “How far along are you?” “Oh, 18, 19 weeks…yeah, I’m not sure.” So bring on the excitement with the first!)
Size: Our baby is about the size of an apple, 4 inches long, and that’s just crown to rump! (How long are the legs then?)
Name: Little Caramel
Gender: Coming to an ultrasound near you on January 31st!
Maternity Clothes: I’m at the point where I WANT people to know that I’m pregnant, and not just fat – and though I’m starting to get the stares, it’s not “out” enough that I’ve had stranger belly rubs…which is probably a good thing.
Food Cravings: Lime mineral water. Chocolate milk. Applesauce.
Currently reading: What to Expect When You’re Expecting (pregnancy); The Crowning Glory of Calla Lily Ponder (fiction) + some of them from last week.
Most interesting reading fact: (a new category!) Did you know that lying prostrate while giving birth was invented in the 16th century by a king who wanted to watch women give birth, but didn’t want them to know he was watching them? Creeper!
Feeling: Mostly great – I didn’t sleep well last night, though it didn’t have to do with pregnancy, but more so had to do with my brain not turning off from being on Facebook and playing Words With Friends too late. Bad Cara.
Missing: wearing clothes without the circulation being cut off. That’s usually my sign that it needs to go in storage for the next few months.
Anticipating: this last full week of work and life here in CA before hopping on the plane to Florida!
Thoughts and stories, comments, advice? I’ll gladly take them all!0
